Valerie C. Patterson was granted her angel wings on March 17, 2022. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Valerie had touched in her short, yet very memorable life. Valerie’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile, angelic demeanor and wise counsel brought so much joy to the lives of others. She gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Valerie is survived by her loving parents, Roy Downs and Dortris Patterson; four beautiful sons Derriq Evans, Christephor Irving, Elyjah Ross and Izayah Ross; sisters Hycinth Downs-Gordon, Andrea Downs-Patterson, Dortris Downs, Leila Downs, and Jolethea Downs.
