A Life Well Lived
Chevonne Tuere Edwards was born on April 30, 1984 to Charles & Rita Edwards. She was the
youngest of their three children. Chevonne grew up in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of
Brooklyn, NY and was an active member of Concord Baptist Church of Christ. Chevonne developed a
love of dance. She trained at the Charles Moore Dance Studio and shared her gift in liturgical dance
ministry at Bridge Street AME Church, Lincoln University, and Concord Baptist Church of Christ where
she established the ministry alongside her siblings.
Chevonne graduated from John Dewey High School in Brooklyn, NY and matriculated at Lincoln
University in Pennsylvania. Chevonne graduated with degrees in both Biology and Education. After
graduation, Chevonne moved to Baltimore, Maryland and became an 8th grade science teacher for
Baltimore County Public Schools. Chevonne was an active member at the Empowerment Temple AME
Church in Baltimore, Maryland where she was licensed to Preach under Rev. Dr. Jamal Harrison Bryant.
She went on to earn her Master’s of Divinity degree from Howard University.
Chevonne loved working with children especially when she could teach them something new.
Chevonne was funny, loving, loyal, and god-fearing. Family was very important to her, so she prioritized
her life with God first and family second in all things. She loved listening to music, reading, and watching
movies, especially Marvel movies and crazy Lifetime Movies like “My father’s ex-wife’s brother is
stalking me”. Chevonne also enjoyed baking with her nieces and gaming with her nephew.
Chevonne leaves to cherish her memory her beloved siblings Maia and Kyree; sister-in-love
Shysheika; nieces Mycah and Morgan, nephew Kyree Junior; and a host of family and friends.
