Clara Mae Robinson was born, eldest daughter to the late Willie and Odallier Culley on Tuesday, January 27, 1931, in Colt, Arkansas.
She received her education in the public schools of Forest City, AR, proudly graduating with the class of 1952 of Lincoln High School. Upon completing her secondary education, Clara moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she furthered her education in the healthcare field of Nursing. She later moved and settled in Wilmington, DE, successfully gaining employment as a Nurse at the Wilmington Hospital. She later became an Instructor in Childcare and Development at the Kingswood Community Center, where she remained until retirement. Forever the Entrepreneur, she became a Saleswoman for the Avon Cosmetic Company.
Clara was joined in holy matrimony to the late Columbus Robinson on May 31, 1955. From this union came 5 children: Barbara, Robert, Ronald, Amir and Carol.
Clara was a faithful and dedicated member of New Hope Baptist Church for more than 55 years. She diligently served as an Usher, Culinary Staff and the President of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry under the leadership of the last 3 sitting Pastors, ultimately being appointed a Mother of the Church. Her love for God, her natural and extended family, and the kingdom community at large was a testament of her virtue and servitude making her a beacon of light in the offering of new hope to the world and the body of Christ.
Mother Robinson was a lover of traveling, attending plays and family activities. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting. She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, particularly a fan of Ryan Howard
Mother’s love for God enabled her to be a beacon of love and light who did not mind helping anyone who was in need. She declared, “I’ve had a good life, and whenever the Lord gets ready for me, I’m ready to go.”
On Thursday, June 12, 2025, God in his infinite wisdom summoned Mother Robinson from labor to reward surrounded by her family. In addition to her Parents and Husband, she was preceded in death by her Son, Robert, Daughter, Carol and Siblings, Jack, Leo, Clarence, Willie, Cleveland and Mardell.
She will forever be lovingly remembered by her loving children, Barbara, Ronald and Amir, Siblings, Augustine of Richfield MN, Pearlie of Dacula GA, Clora of Flint MI, Lennie, Moserine and Elthean of Little Rock, AR, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her New Hope Baptist Church family and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
