Pearl Elizabeth Reed

Pearl Elizabeth Reed was born on September 19, 1939, in Ridgley, Maryland, to the late Clarence Seth

and Corrine Wright-Seth. She departed this life peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on

Monday, June 23, 2025.

Pearl received her education in the Wilmington Public Schools. After school, she was employed at

Eastwind Productions and Playtex for many years. Pearl loved spending time at family gatherings and

family trips. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Booker T. Reed Sr.; her

cherished son, Booker T. Reed II; her parents, Clarence Seth and Corrine Wright-Seth; her sisters, Corrine

M. Seth, Patricia Marshall, and Mary A. Seth; her brothers, Clarence E. Seth, James Seth, John Seth,

Gilbert Seth, and Christopher Seth; and two brothers-in-law, Carl Reed and Clifton Reed.

Pearl leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted daughters, Joycelyn Johnson and Virginia

Reed; her beloved grandchildren, Anthony L. Johnson II and Shakira L. Reed; her great-grandsons,

Anthony Johnson III and Jaylen Reed; two brothers, Layton B. Wright and William L. Seth; one sister

Glennie Seth-Thomas; five loving sisters-in-law, Pauline Evans, Maryetta Williams, Betty Reed, Kathy

Wright, and Alisha Seth and two brothers-in-law Norman Reed and Bernard Williams; and a host of

loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Pearl will be remembered for her unwavering love, quiet strength, nurturing heart, and her deep-rooted

faith. She built her life around caring for others and found joy in the simple moments with family. Her

legacy of love, grace, and resilience will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know

her.
