    Alice Aline Palmer

    June 25, 1947 - January 3, 2022

Alice Aline Manuel was born on June 25, 1947 in Franktown, VA .She was the oldest Daughter of Aline Manuel and the late Henry Manuel. She was educated in the Northampton County Public School System and she later in life accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Alice was affectionately known as “Aya” to all of her family and friends. At the age of 18 Aya left her hometown of Virginia and moved to Delaware where she met the love of her life Robert Palmer. They married and made their home a place of love for their daughter Priscilla and any of their family that would reside there with them throughout the years. Their home was full of love and the place everyone loved to visit. Aya started her career at Wilmington Trust Bank in the mailroom. She worked hard ,excelled quickly and became a lead in the Savings Department. Alice Palmer was well known throughout all the bank branches. She served at Wilmington Trust for over 26 years before she retired. Aya was always very quiet and meek. She was known for her sharp dressing and her ability to whip up full course meals quickly. She always enjoyed family functions and she always wanted everybody to be happy. On Monday January 3, 2022 God in his infinite wisdom decided that she had fought the good fight, she had kept the faith and she had finished her course and she slipped from this life to eternal rest. She will always be remembered as a kind soul with a loving heart. She will be greatly missed. Aya was preceded in death by her husband of over 45 years Robert S.Palmer, her father Henry Manuel and her sister Virginia (Putt) Manuel. She is survived by her loving daughter Priscilla D Chandler (Angelo) 2 Grandsons Pierre R Legerme and Paul J Legerme. 1 granddaughter , Asanii Burton Legerme ; Her mother Aline Manuel ; 2 brothers Henry L Manuel ( Brenda) and Rickey A Manuel ( Carla) 3 sisters Linda D Sturgis (Robert) ,Gloria L Jackson and Janice M Manuel and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews , cousins and friends.
