Willie Marvin Whitehurst was born to the late John Whitehurst and Bessie Thomas in New Hope, North Carolina. "Marvin" as he was called, was born June 30th, 1960, and departed this life on April 22, 2022, at the Christiana Care Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. Most of Marvin's friends and family always called him "Marvin" and will always remember him as "Marvin". He received his early education in Pasquotank County, North Carolina. At the age of eight years old, he moved to Wilmington, Delaware with his father, and Stepmother Mrs. Rosie Whitehurst, then later they moved to New Castle, Delaware. Marvin was the proud father of his daughter; Alyssa Lanea, and Son; Marvin, whom he loved with all his heart. Willie (Marvin) graduated from William Penn High School, he loved to play football and baseball. His favorite hobby was fishing. He, his dad, and his friends could fish all day long. Marvin had a generous spirit and was able to work hard and loved working with his hands. He had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior, in 2010, while taking the New Members Class at the church. He was employed by the Malone Construction Company for many years as a Cement Finisher, he also worked for Mike Francisco Excavation Service, and Advance Cleanout ACO LLC. Willie was injured in April 2021, while on one of his many jobs, and was hospitalized in the Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware, until he was transferred to the Christiana Care, Accent Care at the Wilmington Hospital. There he remained until his passing on April 22, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, John Whitehurst, and his mother Mrs. Bessie Thomas, grandmother, Leuise W. Brown, aunt, Louise F. Brown, nephew, Ervin Whitehurst, cousin, Karl Brown, and the mother of his children Wendy Hitt. He is survived by his two children; Alyssa and Christopher Whitehurst, stepmother, and Mrs. Rosie Whitehurst all at the home. As well as five brothers; Jonnie (Bonita), Calvin (Melissie), Ervin (Velvet), John (Vicki), and younger brother Izzy, three sisters; Catherine (Clifton), Norma (Floyd), Shauna (William), two aunts; Charity Taylor (Leo), and Gloria Birt, a special friend, Catrina Garett, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbors, and friends. A very special thanks to the Accent Care Team.
