Shirley Ann Todd was born on Monday, October 27, 1947 to the late Joseph and Alice Todd in Burkeville, Virginia where she was raised and graduated from Luther H. Foster High School in 1966.
At an early age, Shirley gave her life to Christ while attending Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Jetersville, Virginia, under the leadership of Reverend Benjamin Agnew where she served faithfully until relocating to New Jersey in 1966. Under the leadership of Pastor Ronald J. Corsey, Sr., Shirley rededicated her life to Christ at Hopewell Baptist Church in 2000. She enjoyed studying the word of God, participating in Wednesday night Bible Study, and Sunday school when able to. Her love for the Lord increased her biblical knowledge and she was ordained as a Deaconess in 2007. Prior to becoming a Deaconess, Shirley faithfully served on the Senior Choir, Mass Choir, Praise and Worship Team, Pastors Aide and Missionaries.
Shirley dedicated 29 years of hard work and commitment to Anchor Glass where she was a respected and dependable member of the team, holding various positions before going out on permanent disability in 1999.
Shirley’s greatest pride was her family who she loved with all her heart and was so loved in return. 1 John 4:7-8 says Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Shirley went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 16, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Alice Todd; Brothers Joseph, James, and Frank Todd; Sister Alice Christopher; and Daughter-in-law Carolyn Sistrunk.
She leaves to cherish her memory sons Jermaine Sistrunk, Sr., John Sistrunk, Jr. (Janel); her grandchildren Jermaine Sistrunk Jr., Kavon Sistrunk, JaiYar McGhee, Marcus Sease, Tania Robinson, Shunique Nance, Torrin Robinson, and Kylen Robinson; Sister-in-law Christine Todd; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family, and friends.
