He passed on January 27, 2025, in an apartment on Elk Chase Drive in Elkton, MD. Shayne Lee Petrey left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone he touched. He was a courageous person with an unbreakable spirit who constantly tried to accomplish his objectives. From his early childhood to his adolescence, he was a football star. After school he worked on building his own brand with his friends and had dreams of playing pro football. Shayne had a gift for bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He had a true sense of humor even when he was a child, inventing his own slang. In group settings,
Shayne’s presence was particularly captivating, bringing people together with his infectious energy and enthusiasm. He was a shining light to those who knew him, a kind soul with a heart full of love and a spirit whose energy was unmatched. He was the spark that ignited every party in any social setting.
Shayne, better known as Jimmy, was a devoted family guy and friend to those who knew him well. To his children, Shayne was a constant source of love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they made memories that will last a lifetime and created a bond that cannot be broken or forgotten. To his sons, he was everything: a hero, a guiding light, and a constant source of love and support. He had a vivid personality, and it was heartwarming to see how much he adored them. His faith was strong, yet he, like everyone else, had to face difficulties and setbacks.
Despite facing challenges, Shayne remained true to himself and continued to spread love and kindness wherever he went. Shayne’s passion for fashion, sports, music, and family was contagious; being together and creating long-lasting memories brought us closer. His sense of style and flair for fashion were matched only by his passion for collecting sneakers. Shayne loved staying on top of the latest sneaker trends, making sure his outfit was fire with a fresh pair. His personal style was unique, reflecting his adventurous spirit and flair for self-expression. He loved playing football and basketball, even if he was hurt. He was a big guy, but really quick on his feet. Although he tested the waters often, he was a force to be reckoned with and understood how life was. He was a loving father, cherished son, adored nephew and cousin, and devoted friend who looked out for those he loved the most. He wanted nothing but the best. He was well loved and will be missed beyond words. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.
Shayne Lee Petrey was preceded in death by Gabrielle Petrey, his daughter a year and 17 days from his death.
