Sharon I. Fields

Sharon Inez Brown Fields was born on March 6, 1954, in Wilmington, DE to Walter Sr.& Hazel Brown. She passed on May 13, 2026, at the Christiana Care Wilmington Hospital, Wilmington, DE.

Sharon received her early education in the Wilmington Public Schools system and graduated from P.S. DuPont High School in 1972. During her youth, she was a faithful member of the Mother Church of God in Christ on Market Street, where she especially enjoyed singing in the choir. She was also an avid supporter of the New Life Christian Center COCHUSA and the online ministry of Digging Deeper Bible Study, both led by her brothers.

Sharon was a vibrant, fun-loving woman whose warm smile, joyful spirit, and caring heart touched everyone she met. She embraced life with enthusiasm and treasured every opportunity to spend time with her family and friends. Her laughter was contagious, her presence comforting, and her love unwavering. Sharon had many hobbies, including cooking, dancing, and listening to music especially Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross. Her generous spirit and genuine concern for others made her a treasured friend and a beloved family member.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Sr. and Hazel Brown; her daughter, Kimberly Linnae Billie Brown; her brothers, Walter Jr., Charles Butcher, George, and Lawrence Brown; and her sisters, Dora Faulkner, Hortense Taylor, and Carolyn Brown.

Sharon is survived by her two children, daughter Nicole Fields-Lewis, and son William Brown. Five grandchildren, Zaniah Brown-Williams, Kimyah Brown-Hacks, Lilly Fields-Tribbett, Elijah and Wilayah Brown, Her brothers: Herman Scott, Ronald, Calvin (Bonita) & Ellsworth (Stephanie). Sisters: Regina Robinson & Wafiyah AbdusSamad, Lifelong best friends, Vivian Ross, Monique Medley, Denise Roberts, Belinda Robinson, Froncella & Mr. Bruce, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
