Sandra Teresa Davis, affectionately known as Sandy, was born on May 9, 1960, in Chester, Pennsylvania. She was the beloved eldest daughter of Richard Lee and Vivian Lue Davis, both of whom preceded her in death. Sandra departed this life peacefully on March 6, 2026. She began her education in New Castle County Public Schools and proudly graduated from P. S. Dupont High School in June of 1977. Sandra was a passionate fan of Rhythm and Blues, often attending concerts to hear the Whispers, Isley Brothers, and other legendary R&B artists. She loved singing songs by Kem and would sing with joy, regardless of who was listening.

Sandra cherished her family deeply and devoted herself to maintaining strong connections with her relatives. She upheld the family tradition started by her father by organizing family barbecues and other gatherings to keep everyone united. Sandra was a generous giver of her time, talent, and treasure. She spent quality moments with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members. She used her God-given talents to help others in her family and in the community. She contributed her financial assets and resources to assist individuals in need. When her mother could no longer care for herself, Sandra tenderly looked after her until her mother’s passing. Later, when Sandra became ill, her children Porsche, and Antoine and grandson Ahmir cared for her with the same love and devotion. Raised in a faith-filled home, Sandra continued her spiritual journey as a dedicated and active member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Sandra began her career in 1996 as a loved and respected correctional officer at the Delores J. Baylor Woman’s Correctional Institution. During her tenure, she made significant impact in the rehabilitation of many women’s lives and built strong and lasting friendships with colleagues Terri Thomas, Angela Endres, and Syrita Williams. She happily retired after 21 years of faithful service.

Sandra Teresa Davis is survived by her two sisters and brother: Veronica E. Davis, Pamela Davis, and Richard L. Davis (Jennifer) of Wilmington. She leaves behind her children, Antoine D. Davis and Porsche C. Davis, both of Wilmington, Delaware. Sandra is also survived by five grandchildren Brian Marquis, Antonia (Jayvon), Antoine Jr, Ahmir, and Peru, 5 great-grandchildren A’Quarius, Navein, A’Naviair, Naamari, and Celine, her beloved aunts Celestine Finney and Carol Lee, her best friends Sandra Harris and Terrance A. Evans, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends. Sandra’s love and legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
