Roger W. Corbin, Jr. was born on January 26, 1937 in Wilmington, Delaware. He peacefully passed in
his home on October 22, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.
Roger graduated from Howard High School class of 1955 and then enlisted into the United
States Air Force as an administrative clerk in 1956. He made it to the rank of Senior Airman in 1959 before receiving a good conduct medal and being honorably discharged in 1960.
While matriculating at Goldey Beacom College, Roger was employed with Hercules Inc. He also obtained an associate's degree in business management from Goldey Beacom. Roger was an entrepreneur and co-owner with his brothers of
Corbin's Chicken and Seafood in Atlantic City.
His greatest accomplishment came on April 8, 1972 when he married the love of his life Emma
Evelyn Mitchell. He was blessed to have been the father of his three girls: Kim (Roger) Turnbo Sifford, Lena Carroll Clay and Peggy Brooks.
Roger was a long-time member of Canaan Baptist Church before becoming a member of the
Church of Exodus. Roger loved being on the Family Prayer Line every Thursday morning where he would always offer encouraging remarks to the minister.
He was a big Philly sports fan with the Philadelphia Eagles being his favorite among all sports teams. He was the life of the party and always put his loved ones first.
Roger is survived by his wife Emma, three daughters, Kim Turnbo (Roger) Sifford, Lena Carroll Clay and Peggy Brooks, his godson Thomas (Rafiah) Broomer his grandchildren Kirk Clay, Roger (Tyshay) Clay, Tyler Brooks, Tahnia (Chad) Battles, Christian Turnbo, Tywan (Sunita) Brooks, Tyonna Brooks, his 18 wonderful great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Daniel(Marlene) Mitchell, sisters-in-law, Betty Mitchell and Diana Mitchell, his best friend Carlton (Kathy) Ennis, a host of devoted aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins whom he held close to his heart.
