Rachel Louise Gaither

Rachel Gaither was born on August 4, 1928 in Wilmington, De to Fred DeShields and Alice May Newman. She passed away on February 15, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. Rachel received her early childhood education from Absalom Jones School and after high school she graduated from Browns. Rachel was preceded in death by her husband Evan Gaither parents, 2 sons Jerome Powell and Alfred DeShields. Rachel is survived by 1 son John Price of Chester, Pa, Caroline Rice Miles of Baltimore, Md, Jacqueline Lewes of New Castle, De, Nathaniel Wilkes of Wilmington, De and Reginald Wilkes of New Castle, De; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
