Rebecca Lockett-Drummond, 90, Departed this life on Monday, April 4, 2022 at Christiana Hospital Newark DE. surrounded by family. Rebecca is affectionately known as Mother Drummond to many was born on June 4, 1931, To the late Clarence Lockett and Leconer Thompson in Boissevain, VA. She was one of nine siblings.
Rebecca's early & high school education was in Tazewell County Virginia. After high school, she worked as a Domestic and Child Care worker.
Rebecca was married to the late George Drummond and to this union 1 child was born Linda Gertrude Drummond. Rebecca was a God-fearing born again Christian. She received the gift of The Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus name in the 1970s. She was a faithful member of the Macedonia Church of God in Christ (Formally The Glorious Church of God in Christ) the late Bishop C.C. Lockett was her pastor. Mot. Drummond served until her long illness and passing. Mot. Rebecca Drummond served on the Mother's Board, was the President of the Prayer Band and served on the Missionary Board.
Mot. Drummond was proceeded in death by all her siblings: Brothers: Dea. Langston Lockett, Rev. Ronell Lockett, Nathaniel Lockett, Dea. Thomas Lockett, Joseph Lockett, & Bishop Charles Curtis Lockett, Sr. Sisters: Margaret Lockett-Johnson, Mot. Alberta E. Lockett & Mot. Ardenia Lockett-Scott.
Rebecca is survived by her daughter, Linda Gertrude Drummond, grandchildren, Lamaal & Rhashaun Drummond, stepdaughter, Diane Garris, brother-in-law Bishop Charles B. Scott Sr. Also left to cherish her memories are numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins. And a devoted/neighbor & friend Mrs. Eyvona Swanson & Pastor Elizabeth Lockett & her Church Family.
