Mildred L. Council

Mildred Lorraine Dale Council, daughter of the late Anna Baynard Dale and the late Vernon Dale Sr., entered this life on January 4, 1934 and departed October 26, 2025.

She was born in the City of Chester, Pennsylvania and educated in the Chester Public School System graduating from Chester High School in 1951. She married the late Ernest R Council, Sr. in September, 1953. From this union, two sons were born, Ernest R. Council, Jr. (Veronica) of McDonough, Georgia, and Michael K. Council (Merrie) of Voorhees, New Jersey.

Mildred loved music and was a trained pianist in her early years. She was a loving and devoted mother who raised and cared for her two sons and also joined in the raising of her nieces and nephews. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh.

Mildred was preceded in death by her sisters, Delores Dale of Chester, PA; Dorothy Mitchell of Boston, MA; Drexon Smith of Greensboro, NC; brothers, Charles Brittingham of Chester, PA, and Vernon Dale, Jr. of Boston, MA. 

She leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Celestine Dale of Greensboro, NC and one brother, Oliver Dale of Chester, PA. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Ernest, III, Dale and Grace Council and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
