Margaret Jane (Janie) Carter, age 85 years old, of Wilmington, DE died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 8, 2009 at her home. Service 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Coleman Memorial UM Church, 465 1/2 Anderson Dr., Wilmington, DE. Viewing, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Reindeers Ritual 12:30 PM. Burial will be private. Her husband, Ottaway (Bus) Carter and younger son, Maurice (Reecie) Carter preceded her in death. Janie was by all appearances in good health having spent the previous day shopping with her eldest son Milton for a planned weekend trip to New Jersey to visit family there. In view of her high energy level, (she was always busy) and apparent in good health, her death was indeed an unexpected shock to many people who knew her.
