Lucille “Bugsy” Grier was born on August 2, 1952, in Wilmington DE to Lucy Whitfield and Edward Johnson
Bugsy received her early childhood education from the Wilmington Public Schools System. After finishing school, she worked at Ingleside Retirement Homes and then A.I Dupont Children’s hospital, where she worked until retirement.
Bugsy had many hobbies that include cooking, spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors. But most of all, she enjoyed her weekly “pitty pat” card games.
Bugsy was proceeded in Death by her husband of 35 years Thomas Grier, Her mother and Lucy Whitfield and Father Edward Johnson, Brothers Richard Johnson Sr and Cleve A. Brown, and Sister Beatrice Johnson.
Bugsy is survived by her sons Jermaine “Whitey” Johnson, Warren “Luv” Johnson (Lolita) and Jammie “Jambo” Johnson (Jessica)-Siblings: Mary Ann Cosden, Yvonne “Pinky” Brown, William Brown and Edward “Eddie” Johnson. Grandchildren: Kaneshia, Andre, Enaiya, Kanay, Ahmi, Akil, Amin and Amir. Special daughter Lawanna “Boog” McClean and Special niece and nephew Renee and Erik “Marvelous” Brown. Godchildren Monica and Miguel and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and the ENTIRE HILLTOP FAMILY.
