Lovell Andrew Wright, affectionately known as “Busha or Dred” was born on February 10, 1948, in Petersville, Westmoreland, Jamaica, and departed this life peacefully on April 5, 2026, at the age of 78 in Wilmington, Delaware.

Busha carried the spirit and culture of his homeland with him throughout his life. A gifted carpenter by trade, he was known for his skilled hands and his ability to build not only with wood, but with care, patience, and purpose. Beyond his work, Lovell had a deep love for cooking, often bringing people together through meals filled with flavor and heart.

Dred was a man of wisdom, humor, and ease. His presence was grounding—he had a way of making others feel seen, heard, and at peace. As a man rooted in the Rastafarian faith, he lived by principles of love, unity, respect, and connection to nature and spirituality. He embraced life with a calm strength and a joyful soul, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Winnifred Wright and Enoch Wright; and his brothers, Titus Wright, Otis Wright, and Rainford “Sheck” Wright.

Lovell leaves to cherish his memory his beloved siblings: Balvin “Paul” Wright, Franklin Wright, Dennis Wright, Oliver Wright, Melody Jones , Jasmine Watson, Merlyn Wright, and Janet Wright.

Lovell’s legacy lives on through his children, Alma Anderson-Samuels, Ileena Wright, Shavon Wright-Parson (Bruce), Prince Wright, Hopio Wright, Marcus Wright, Tenesha Wright, Zion Wright, O’Neil Wright, and JaDemair Wright. He also leaves behind the mother of his first five children, Patsy Ffrench; a host of grandchildren, great-grand children, cousins, nieces & nephews; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will continue to carry his memory forward.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Lovell’s life will be held on April 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM at 113 Alston Ct, New Castle, Delaware. Guests are invited to wear Rasta colors—red, green, black, and yellow in tribute to his heritage, faith, and vibrant spirit.

Lovell’s legacy of love, laughter, wisdom, and strength will live in the hearts of all who knew him. His soul rests, but his spirit remains ever present guiding, protecting, and blessing.
