Jennieve Patterson

December 2, 1959 — December 12, 2025

Jennieve Patterson, affectionately called “Lally” by family and friends, was born on December 2, 1959, to the late Mrs. Ives Patterson and Mr. Lawford Patterson. From her earliest days, Jennieve carried a gentle strength and a joyful spirit that would later touch many lives.

She received her early education at Murray Mount All-Age School in Jamaica, where her foundation was laid not only in academics, but in discipline, respect, and community values— principles that stayed with her throughout her life. After migrating to the United States, Jennieve continued her education at Delaware Technical & Community College in Wilmington, Delaware.

Jennieve was formerly employed at Complete Care at Hillside in Wilmington, Delaware, where she worked with compassion and dedication. True to her Jamaican upbringing, she believed in honest work, helping others, and doing her best in whatever her hands found to do.

A Time to Plant Ecclesiastes 3:2 Jennieve confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Wildman Pentecostal Church in Kingston, Jamaica. Her faith was not just something she spoke about—it was something she lived daily, guiding her words, her actions, and her love for people.

She later joined Faith Tabernacle United Holy Church under the leadership of Pastor Glover, where she became deeply rooted and actively involved. Jennieve served faithfully as amember of the Ministerial Staff, Pastor’s Aide, and Praise and Worship Leader. She loved her pastor, cherished her church family, and looked forward eagerly to worship— especially Sunday mornings, when she would rise early, ready and joyful to be in the house of the Lord.

Church was her refuge, her strength, and her joy, a true “home” where her spirit felt at home.

A Time to Laugh Ecclesiastes 3:4 Jennieve’s presence lit up every room she entered. Her energy was vibrant, her smile ever-present, and her laughter—sweet, loud, and infectious—could be heard from far away. With Lally around, there was always warmth, humor, and good vibes. It was never a dull moment.

She had a special way of making people feel welcomed and loved, whether through a kind word, a shared story, or a hearty Jamaican laugh. Jennieve loved her family deeply, stood firmly for those she cared about, and above all, she took immense pride in and joy from her adorable sons, whom she loved beyond measure.

A Time to Die Ecclesiastes 3:2 Jennieve Patterson peacefully answered the Master’s call and took her final breath at 11:45 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Christiana Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ives Patterson and Lawford Patterson, and her dear brother, Edwin Patterson. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing she has gone home to rest, free from pain, embraced by her Heavenly Father.

A Time to Embrace and a Time to Weep Ecclesiastes 3:4, 3:5 Jennieve leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted and beloved sons: Andre, Mark, Laviour, Tajuan, and Javan; her precious grandchildren: Tiara, Justin, Kamaree, andAmira; and one great-grandchild Journee She is also survived by her siblings: Enid, Rita, Avis, Dotris, Aneita, Jackline, Consolata, Jennifer, Eric, Handel, and Hurbert, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, church family, and dear friends—both near and far.

Though she has gone from our sight, Jennieve “Lally” Patterson will forever live on in our hearts, our memories, our laughter, and our love. Sleep in peace, until we meet again.
