James P. Brady aka “Jimmy” peacefully drifted into the arms of his Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ surrounded by his loving devoted family on January 3,
2023. James was born on August 17, 1961 in Wilmington, Delaware to the
late Richard Pierce Jr. and Doris V. Jeffers.
James was raised in Middletown, DE and received his early childhood
education within Appoquinimink School District. As a young boy, he was a
member of the Jr. Echoes and the Young Peoples Department (YPD), at
Trinity A.M.E Church in Middletown, DE. While at Middletown High School, he
played varsity football and was well known as the class clown.
Soon after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1979 where he
was stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After being honorably
discharged, he was employed at Black N Decker for over 20 years and then
worked for the Town of Middletown.
On October 31, 1998, James married Teresa Turner (Brady) and from this
union came their three daughters Tamara Turner-Leach, Bianca Turner and
Za’nequa Turner. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His
hobbies were fishing, cooking, watching western shows, and cheering for the
Philadelphia Eagles.
Later in life, Jimmy attended and became a member of Faith Fellowship
Church in Cleona, PA. He loved the Lord and didn’t mind letting anyone know
it. He had a personality that people gravitated towards. James was a resilient
individual who never failed to put a smile on his loved ones faces.
James was preceded in death by his father Richard Pierce Jr. and his
grandparents: James “Pluck” Brady, Emma Jane Purnell, Richard Pierce Sr.
and Lena Frisby.
Loving memories of Jimmy will be cherished by; devoted mother; Doris V.
Jeffers, wife; Teresa Brady; daughters, Tamara Turner-Leach (Patrick), Bianca
Turner, and Za’nequa Turner; grandchildren, Nykee Turner, Neveah Turner,
Noah Turner, and Chance Nicholas; devoted sister Dana Brady and brother
Derek Brady; nieces, devoted Dierra and Don’Tay Brady, Maura Brady
and Jada Brady; nephew, Darion Jones; aunts devoted Holoise Jones (Larry)
and Brenda Stocks (Larry); uncle Randy Stocks; devoted cousin Donna
Hammond and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition, he will be lovingly remembered by his special and forever
friends: Dwayne Henry, Robert Shorts, Tony Henry, Doug Waters, Stanford
Demby, Anthony Bean, Dion Baynard and Calvin Suggs.
