Fannie B Moffatte Harris was born on August 17, 1940 in Richburg, South Carolina to the late Willis and Zeddie Moffatte. She was called from labor to rest on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
Fannie graduated from Finley High School in Chester, South Carolina in 1959. After completing high school, she relocated to New York to seek better career opportunities. She began employment in New York City with an Insurance Services Office and worked for 25 plus years until her retirement in 2002.
As a devout Christian, Fannie relied on her faith to guide her through the difficult challenges of life. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to all of her children.
Fannie is survived by her two children, daughter, Jacqueline Moffatte, Saint Cloud, Florida, and son, Byron C Chavis, Wilmington, Delaware. Three grandchildren, D’Angelique, Joshua and Jayron. Two great grandchildren, Isaiah and Genesis, three sisters, Shirley Lewis, Richburg, SC, Janet Stanton, Fairfax, Va, and Loutrell Johnson, Charlotte, N.C. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.
