Etowja Juanita Anderson, 65 of Wilmington, Delaware, peacefully went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends. Etowja was born July 15, 1960, in Wilmington, De to Valeria Louise Jones and Howard David Anderson.
Etowja, affectionately known as Tow by her family and close friends, grew up on Wilmington's Northside in an old-fashioned close-knit neighborhood full of love and nurturing. As a child she had many talents, she was the best dancer, fastest runner, and best dressed of the neighborhood. Although she had a very quiet personality her beautiful voluminous voice filled up any room or family events when she sang. Etowja had many friends and was well loved and adored. She attended Harlan Elementary, Burnett Middle School and was a valiant P.S. DuPont High School Dynamiter. After high school Etowja took classes at Delaware Tech Community College, she used her passion and love to help others by becoming a CNA, Caregiver and Patient Care Technician. She worked for Emily Bissell, St. Francis Hospital for many years and later for Christiana Care Hospital as a Patient Care Tech for many more years before retiring as a clerk in the H.I.M.S. Dept (Medical Records) after 27 years of dedicated Service at Christiana Care Health System. She was also employed full-time for Superior Court in the Prothonotary Dept for the State of Delaware.
Etowja was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Gospel Church of Deliverance in Wilmington, De where she used her beautiful voice to glorify The Lord. She was an avid crafter, creative interior decorator and designer of the Bling, Bling. She adored her family and had a very special bond with her grandson Davarion (aka) Mooters whom she cherished and helped raise from birth. Etowja enjoyed going to Brandywine Park and would sit in her car for hours in her favorite spot, feeding the squirrels and geese, enjoying the river and watching the ducks go by. She spent hours inside A.C. Moore, she was there almost every other day getting supplies to make her crafts. She looked forward to her trips to Boscov's, sitting in her car relaxing after work munching on her favorite snacks, going to the furniture stores with her granddaughter Ronajah, and her grandson Bub was never too far behind.
Etowja and her daughter would take rides that were so long that they would end up in another state. She loved her children Ronald and Muff deeply and her grandchildren were her heartbeat. She was always there to help those in need. She would give her last to anyone she saw that needed her help. Etowja would be the first one there whenever her family or friends were sick and needed care. Etowja loved her family and friends dearly.
Etowja is proceeded in death by her parents, her brother James Bernard Jones, lifelong childhood friends Rhonda Minor and Stella Cisney.
Etowja leaves to cherish her precious memories her son Ronald Anderson, daughter Etowja (Muff) Anderson, Grandchildren, Davarion (Mooters), Ronajah and Quinnell (Bub) Anderson, Sisters Deborah Dale (Michael), Regina Jones, Juanita, Damita and Bernadette Lolley, 1 Brother Howard Lolley, Nieces Chauntelle Goodridge (Carl), Christina Dale, Kierra, Tasia and Zaire Jones, and Shonta Parson, Nephews Michael and Caleb Dale, James Bernard (BJ) Parson, Jamal (Brywil) and Jakeem (Man) Jones, Goddaughter Nikia Moore, childhood friend Sherri Carter Williams and a host of other nieces and nephews, family and friends. Etowja was Loved Dearly and will forever be missed
