Erika was born November 3, 1976 to Stephanie Brown and Duncan Thompson.
Erika attended Salem County Schools. In Quinton Twp School, she played basketball and softball. Erika also was a cheerleader at Salem High, was a member of SADD (students against drunk driving), and was a member of the choir.
After graduating from high school, Erika joined the work force. She had worked different jobs, which included years as a credit counsel consultant, Ranch Hope, and a Correctional Officer.
Erika was a people person. She always had a joke to tell to brighten your day. Sometimes it may had been corny, but the way Erika told it, you had to laugh. In May, 2001 Erika was joined in holy matrimony Matthew Green. From this union their beautiful daughter, Julia Ashley was born. Still working, Erika decided to stay home and care for her " baby girl" as she called Julia.
Throughout Erika's childhood, she attended Haven United Methodist Church with her grandparents, Jack and Doris Brown. After marriage, she and her family joined and became members of Outreach Community Church with Bishop Joyce Lewis Wyche.
Erika was diagnosed with with MS, which limited her abilities. She now was facing many challenges, but her belief and trust in God, Kept her going.
Leaving to cherish her memories, Erika is survived by her husband, Matthew Green, daughter Julia Ashley, her mother Stephanie Brown-Cruz (Alphonse), her father Duncan Thompson, sisters Semora Fields (Melvin), and Brandia Walls (Markeith), nieces Sabrya, Kaylin, Skye, Bleue, Alayah, and nephews DonVier, Melvin, Amari, and Cameron, Aunt Marilyn Durham and Uncles Marshall Brown (Edith) and Danny Thompson.
Erika also leaves behind a host of cousins and other family members and friends.
