In Loving Memory of Ellen Land

Ellen Land, 94, peacefully transitioned on Sunday, August 2, 2026, surrounded by her children. Born on July 7, 1932, in Wilmington, Delaware, to the late Cicero and Estelle Carter, she later raised her family in Buffalo, New York before returning to Wilmington.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Ellen created lasting family traditions through holidays, home-cooked meals, and treasured memories. She faithfully served at Shiloh Baptist Church as a member of the Usher Board, the Seasoned Saints Ministry, and the Interdenominational Church Ushers Association of Delaware.

After retiring from Canada Dry, Ellen enjoyed crocheting, solving puzzles, playing Po-Ke-No, watching movies with her family, and collecting whimsical knickknacks that brought joy to all who visited her home.

Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin D. Land, and her son, Jesse Charles. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, extended family, and many dear friends. Her legacy lives on through the traditions she created, the lessons she shared, and the lives she touched.

Interment will be private.
