Cynthia Spence Brown, born on November 28, 1964, to the late Barbara J. Coleman and the late James Taylor Sr.
Cyndy, as she was also known, peacefully departed her earthly life surrounded by
family on April 23, 2025, at Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington Delaware.
Cyndy attended the Quinton Township Elementary School and Salem High School,
where she served as a cheerleader. Cindy furthered her career in Hampton Virginia as a
Cosmetologist, and became a licensed Beautician, doing hair is what she loved to do.
Cyndy loved to fish, camp, swimming, make jewelry, having Bar B Ques, planning family
events and taking trips, eating Seafood, and drinking Milk, Cyndy was all about family,
she would do anything and everything to bring her family together.
Cyndy’s favorite color was blue all shades, she was always the life of the Party, and full
of humor, she was very stylish, and she could draw her eyebrows with her eyes close,
and she didn’t care if one was higher or longer than the other, what you see, is what you
get. And don’t let it be too hot, she didn’t care if she was at Church, restaurant, or
someone’s party, she would say excuse me, and (ready or not) and off came the wig,
and all you can do is laugh.to know her was to love her.
Cyndy was a hard and dedicated worker when her health allowed, she worked for
several companies, Marriott, Bally’s Casino, Gettier Security Company, and Walmart.
Cyndy was predeceased by her parents, and a brother Curtis Riley.
Cyndy leaves to honor her memory, her loving Husband Anthony (Cuda) Brown, 3
children, Clarence (Keeta) Penn, of Claymont Delaware, Raymond Penn, of North
Carolina, Cynthia “Lonnie” Penn of New Castle Delaware, Hasan Taylor of Newark
Delaware, and a special grandson, who she raised as a Son, Tayveon Stewart of New
Castle Delaware, 29 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren,8 step children, 3 sisters,
Patricia (Nate) Dixon, Shelley Chambers, and Rosetta (Rodney) Perkins, 2 brothers
James Taylor 3rd , and Robert (Carolann) Taylor, 4 Godchildren, 2 brother in-laws, 2
sister in-laws, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousin, friends and a special
cousin Carl Washington Jr., whom she dearly loved and enjoyed Sunday Dinners with,
every Sunday, when her health permitted. Cyndy was a jewel in her own way, and she
will be truly missed. Sorrowfully submitted by the family.
