Courtland L. Jones (Corky) was born on December 7, 1972. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on May 15, 2025. He received his early education in the Colonial School District in New Castle, Delaware and worked in the Information Technology Field during his adult career. At an early age, Courtland was baptized at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Penns Grove, New Jersey under the leadership of Rev. Alexander Benjamin where he was active on the Junior Usher Board. He later moved his membership to the Shiloh Baptist Church in Wilmington, Delaware under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Clifford I. Johnson where he was active in the Young Lions and Sound Ministry.
Courtland was full of good humor and had a kind-hearted spirit. He enjoyed music and expanded upon his love of music becoming known as DJ C-Rock. Courtland enjoyed going to the movies, playing miniature golf with Ayden and their summer trips to Wildwood, NJ. He was also a sports enthusiast, hanging with his friends during the NFL season and a diehard Eagles Fan. GO EAGLES!
Courtland leaves to cherish his memory, his son and best friend, Ayden Jones, his mother and stepfather, Cynthia and Charles Mason. Stepbrother, Brian Mason (Hannah), a devoted friend, Tonya Fussell, a favorite aunt, Rosalind Scott (Nate), a special cousin, Ebonee Wilson (Harvey) and their son Kyle as well as a host aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Courtland was a blessing even in his passing. He was a Gift of Life Donor and we know that many recipients are benefiting from his giving. There is peace in knowing that his eternal resting place is with the Lord.
