Catherine Black Matthews went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Gilpin Hall. Mrs. Matthews was the wife of the late John Matthews. She was preceded in death by her son, John H. Matthews, Jr. and three brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Brenda Townsend, Paulette Collick, Anthony B. (Michelle) Matthews, Andre (Cathy) Matthews, Kim (Gary) Robinson, Marcilene Matthews, Lori (Warren) Allison, Brian Matthews and Lynette (Derrick) Bateman, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren and a host of relatives and family friends.
