Camron A. Brady

July 18, 1976 — January 9, 2026

Camron Ashanti Brady was born in Wilmington, Delaware to Gerald A. & Karen Queen Brady on July 18, 1976. He departed this life on January 9, 2026, at his apartment in Wilmington, DE. Camron was a true miracle, entering this world as a 6 month old preemie, before leaving us nearly 50 years later.

Camron attended Delcastle Vocational-Technical High School studying Culinary Arts. After completing Delcastle, he attended one semester at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, enrolled in the College of Culinary Arts. It was his desire to become a pastry chef.

After leaving Rhode Island, he came back to Wilmington and worked at Chase Bank for several years. Subsequently, Camron held several jobs through the Division of the Visually Impaired and the Division of Rehabilitation. During his final years, Camron’s physical ailments from birth took over, forcing him into a retirement due to disability.

Camron was a very independent and tenacious person, not afraid to venture out into theworld. Upon returning to Delaware after leaving Johnson & Wales at nineteen, he never returned to the family home. He first moved to Greensboro, North Carolina to live with his cousins. Prior to returning to his own apartment in Wilmington, Camron lived independently in Greensboro. For a short stint Cam lived in Atlanta, GA with his god-mother Kanika Taylor-Murphy and family. He eventually settled into his current apartment, living independently in downtown Wilmington.

“Cammer” was a stone cold “foodie”. Food was his passion. He was a connoisseur of fine foods, their methods of preparation, and all the many gadgets and utensils needed for said preparation. He loved cooking and made sure that his father and mother enjoyed the meals that he cooked.

He was fun loving and could talk for hours with anyone and everyone he met. His grandmother Jennie would say that he had “the gift of gab.”

Although Camron was legally blind (no vision in the left eye), that did not prevent him from using his right eye to pursue his other passions of reading and gaming. Cam was a prolific reader. He could always be found with a thousand page novel in his hand. His extensive collection of Sci-Fi and fantasy novels were donated after his passing, and noted to be an excellent collection. He was a true gamer and sports enthusiast. His favorites, of course, were football, boxing including MMA, and basketball. He had a phenomenal memory and could rattle off sports statistics with the best of them.
