of New Haven, CT completed his life mission on Saturday, april 24, 2004 at a nursing home in CT. Bishop Hackett was the son of the late Charles and Florence Hackett. Prior to his election to bishop he pastored churches in PA, N.J. and CT. In 1972, he was elevated to bishop. He presided over the 1st & 4th Episcopal Districts of the U.A.M.E. Church. Bishop Hackett was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Hackett; 2 sisters, edith Hall and Beatryce Caple; and 2 brothers Harold and Melvin Hackett. Bishop Hackett leaves to cherish his memories Patricia Caple and Carolyn Stewart Fasakin; 3 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law and a host of additional nieces, nephews and friends.
