It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Augustine Patterson, Jr., who departed this life on July 2, 2026 at the age of 44 in Wilmington, Delaware.

Augustine Patterson, Jr., affectionately known as "Boobie," was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, to Cynthia Coston Patterson and Augustine Patterson II. From an early age, he was known for his quiet and gentle spirit, as well as his curiosity about the world around him. As he matured into adulthood, Augustine became a hardworking and dependable man, admired for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and humble nature. Above all, he deeply loved his family, and his greatest joy was the love he shared with his beloved daughter, who held a very special place in his heart.

Augustine graduated from Christiana High School and went on to further his education at Pennco Technical School, where he studied Mechanical Engineering with a focus on HVAC systems. He also successfully completed a four-year apprenticeship with Seiberlich Trane Energy, demonstrating his commitment to mastering his trade and building a rewarding career.

Augustine was passionate about sports and believed in treating others with kindness and respect. He took great pride in his work and found his greatest joy in the people he loved. His daughter was the light of his life, and he was deeply committed to seeing her grow into a successful and happy young woman. He also shared a very special bond with his beloved grandmother, Ellawese Coston, whom he loved dearly and cherished throughout his life.

Above all, Augustine cherished his family, whose love and support were a constant source of strength throughout his life. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by those who knew and loved him.

He leaves to celebrate his life his devoted mother, Cynthia Coston Patterson; his beloved daughter, Najah Patterson, who was the pride and joy of his life; his brother, Brandon Patterson; his loving aunts, Janet Coston, Joyce Coston, and Charlotte Coston; and his uncle, James Coston. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces, one nephew, and a host of extended family members, friends, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness, gentle spirit, and love.

He was preceded in death by his uncle Timothy Mark Coston and his father Augustine Patterson Sr.

The family will forever treasure the memories of Augustine's love, gentle spirit, strength, and determination. Although he will be deeply missed, his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

The family sincerely thanks you for your prayers, love, support, and for joining them in celebrating Augustine's life. As they honor his memory, they leave you with these words: Love God. Love yourself. Love others. May we all strive to live each day with the compassion, kindness, and love that Augustine shared with those around him.
