Mrs. Arrie S. Avant, age 91 of Newark, DE died on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Christiana Hospital. Born in Rockingham, NC on October 5, 1916. Mrs. Avant was the mother of Gloria L. Lane of Newark, DE with whom she lived. Mrs. Avant came to Delaware to live with her daughter and son-in-law in 1989. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria L. Lane; son-in-law, Clarence Lane; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and very special friends, Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Haynes of Fayetteville, NC.
