William Louis Green

Deacon William (Pal) Green was born on May 24, 1934 in Burrisville, MD, to the late Howard & Elizabeth Green. His earthly journey ended on July 26, 2019 when he transitioned home to his heavenly Father. Pal graduated from Kennard High School in May 1951. He then served 12 years in the United States Army and was Honorable Discharged July 1968 in the rank of Private First Class. Pal worked for the Department of Public Works Bureau of Utility Operations, Sewer Line Maintenance Division where he received several certificates of excellence service in operation repairs. He was recognized as Employee of the Quarter by the Department of Utilities. Deacon Green served as an Ordained Deacon at Shining Light Community Church under the ministry of Pastor Curtis & Evangelist Debbie Demby of Dominion, MD. He loved taking care of his church. While residing at Corsica Hills Center he enjoyed the community church services and loved to sing hymnals. His favorite past time was visiting/socializing with friends and family, also loved participating in the Center's activities. Pal was preceded in death by his brother Alfred Green, brother-in-law Deacon John Newton, brother-in-law Felix (Buddy) Robinson, his favorite Aunt Nellie Butler and friend Robert Pritchett. Family members left to cherish his memories: sisters Rev. Grace Newton, Louise Robinson, Eva Green (caregiver), Anna Cheers (William) and Ernest Green (Carla), along with a host of relatives and friends, and close friends Carolyn, Wendell Bordley, William Burke, Jimmy Cheers, and Van Whittington.
