Thea Mae Howard

On Saturday, December 24, 2022, the good Lord called home Thea Mae Howard.

Thea was born on November 21, 1949, in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Lawrence R. Nichols

and Blanche L. Nichols. She graduated from the De La Warr High school in Wilmington,

Delaware. Thea last worked at the St. Francis Daycare Center as a Teacher’s Aide and later

became a homemaker.

Thea loved listening to music, dancing, spending time with her grandson, shopping, and enjoying

the company of her friends and family. She also spent her leisure time watching her favorite tv

shows, movies, playing Pac Man, casino games, and playing her lottery. She was amusing, very

outspoken, and loved her daily talks with her friends and family whether they wanted to listen to

her or not.

Thea is preceded in death by her father Lawrence R. Nichols and Blanche L. Nichols; her

husband James R. Howard; sisters Maxine Miles and Daphine Scrivens; granddaughter Vernisha

Steward and grandson Vincent Steward.

Thea leaves to cherish loving memories with her two daughters: Tawana L. Howard-Collins

(Leroy) and Tasha “Tootie” C. Steward (Vernon); grandsons Kymir D. Howard and Vance R.

Steward; sisters Joyce Hemingway & Linda Fews and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other

family and friends.
