Sharon M. Wright

December 31, 1955 — September 26, 2020

Celebrating that young lady, they called "SPOT", Sharon Maria Ringgold Wright. Sharon at the age of 64, departed this life on September 26th, 2020, at Christina Hospital Hospice unit, with her family near her side. Sharon was born on December 31st, 1955 in Baltimore City, Maryland to the late Robert H Smith Sr and Shirley L Smith.

Sharon received her education in Wilmington Public schools System. Sharon took pride in the work she did at many different nursing homes. She also wore many different hats in the kitchen, working as a pastry chef, short order cook, head chef, dietary planner and manager. Sharon also loved to cook for her family and friends and there was no calorie counting to the meals she made. She honestly just wanted her meals to hit the "Spot" and see you smile. It was no secret that she truly loved interacting and severing others. Let's not forget how hilarious she was. She loved being playful with her family and friends, leaving them laughing so hard or wondering what just happened. Her nieces and nephews always said, "Auntie was off the chain." Sharon also loved the Lord. When she was physically able, she truly enjoyed going to Church to pray and worship with her family and friends. Sharon was a member of Refreshing Spring G.C.O.G.I.C, a place of worship that she truly loved.

Sharon was a fun-loving person to everyone that she met. However, don't let her soft-spoken personality fool you, she would show you a different kind of love in a "Spot" kind of way. Meanwhile, leavening you with a big hug and a kiss on your cheek and a BIG," I love you too!" Sharon's best friend was her mother, she affectionately called, "her Shirley." If you saw one you would likely see the other. They were truly inseparable. They would be locked and loaded riding in that BMW with the license plate "Bright Eyes." Whenever you would see them you knew Shirley and Spot was on a mission. There was a bond and true love between the two. It was a beautiful bond to witness. 818 West 6th Street was and still is a special place that holds a lot of memories that we will cherish and love forever! Sharon was one of its true corner stones and very special person we referred to as Auntie and "Spot". Sharon has left us all with this beacon of light to follow. This light will help us all to see the brighter days ahead. Spot now that you have made your transition through the heavenly stars to reach those pearly gates, we know that you will be overwhelmed with excitement. So thrilled with your newly fitted wings and the beauty of it all. But please do not forget to send your love to us all from the heavenly skies. We cannot wait to see your new glow and that only shinning "SPOT" amongst the stars.

Sharon was proceeded in death, by father Robert H Smith Sr., her late husband Herbert Dunbar Wright Jr., her maternal grandmother Viola Benson, her uncles, Clifford Warrick, Price Warrick, Daniel Warrick, Allen Bernard and Kennard Benson.
