Rosalea Nedd

September 2, 1929 — July 28, 2012

Rosalea "Rose" Nedd, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Kent General Hospital, Dover, DE. Rose was born on September 2, 1929, in Fayette County, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Reverend Lincoln Ned and Bessie Van Buren. She graduated from Germantown High School in McClellandtown, Pennsylvania. Shortly after high school Rose married the late Henry E. Crawford and through their union had a son Gregory G. Crawford. She moved to New York City and worked for the Federal Government in the Internal Revenue Service as a Revenue Officer. She retired in 1981 at which time she had provided several years of service and acquired many declarations and awards. Rose's life was dedicated to the Lord; she was a faithful member of Smock Baptist Church in Smock, PA and New Tabernacle Baptist Church, Bronx, NY. Her fellowship included being an usher for most weekly services. Rose was an elegant and beautiful lady with a funny sense of humor. Even in her final days she bought joy and laughter to anyone that entered her company. She always spoke of the Lord, politics and family. She had a killer smile which peaked of mischief and pure love. Rose's elegance and attention to detail was apparent in every aspect of her life; from her home decor to baking a lemon meringue pie. She put a lot of time and care in all that she did. Rose is preceded in death by sisters, Mozelle and Bessye, brothers Mosely, James, Fred, and Emmanuel. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her brother Charles Nedd, her only son Gregory Garnett Crawford; three grandchildren, Nya Rose Crawford, Gregory Garnett Crawford II, Oni Wilson-McKnight; four great-grandchildren Kya Imani Green, Amya Chi McKnight, Lya Ja Crawford, Liam Garnett Crawford and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
