Ronald Anthony Davis

June 21, 1962 — January 27, 2023

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no death or mourning or crying or

pain, for the old order of things, has passed away (Revelation 21:4).

Ronald Anthony Davis, the son of William Norman Davis, Sr., and Ruth Geraldine

(Vicks) Davis was born on June 21, 1962, in Brooklyn, New York. On Saturday, January

28, 2023, he quietly and peacefully transitioned to be with Yahweh.

Ron grew up in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn with his seven brothers and four

sisters. He attended Samuel J. Tilden High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. After high school,

he went on to work at the Coney Island Hospital. After his time at the hospital, he began

working for the New York City Board of Elections. He was proud to do his part each

election cycle to ensure that the votes of his fellow New Yorkers were counted.

He was a faithful member of the International Brotherhood of Yahshua’s Disciples for

the Finishing Work, Inc. He enjoyed Sabbath service. He loved when he was called

upon to sing lead on the gospel oldie but goodie, “Talk about Yahshua.” The song was

special to him. It was taught to him and his brothers (the Davis Quartet) by his mother in

their youth. This always brought a dimpled smile to his face.

As a preteen, he discovered a love of music and throughout his life, he would break out

in song trying to emulate the riffs and cadences of his musical idols Sam Cooke and

Marvin Gaye. As a teenager, he began bodybuilding and learned to box and soon

became the protector of his family. In the mature years of his life, he maintained an

aquarium of piranhas that he proudly showcased to visitors.

He was kind to family elders and willingly assisted them in any way needed in their later

years. Ron happily boarded the Greyhound bus from New York to Delaware each

month to bring joy to his parents in their golden years. This special bond inspired him to

treasure the time spent with his daughter, Tiara, and grandson, Aiden. He was proud to

have introduced his grandson to boxing and his love of video games.

Ron would often, and randomly, text family members with a snapshot from their

childhood or photos of dearly departed loved ones. He was always on the prayer lines

and encouraged others to dial in. He was the bridge that brought his loved ones back in

contact with old friends and distant relatives. Many will remember Ron for his witty

“snaps” and his scented colognes.

Ron is preceded in death by his father William Norman Davis, Sr., and his mother Ruth

Geraldine (Vicks) Davis, sister Desiree Holder, brother Daniel Davis, nephew Palmer

Williams and niece Sanaa Holder.

Those left to cherish fond memories of Ron are his beloved daughter Tiara Davis; his

grandson Aiden; his brothers, William, Solomon, Paul, Jonathan, James, and Mark; his

sisters Teri King, Tina Davis, and Brenda Lamont, and a host of nieces, nephews, great

nephews, great nieces, an uncle, aunts, cousins, and friends. He will be deeply

missed!
