Robert Oliver Dixon was born on August 19, 1934 in Wilmington, Delaware, parents of Dora A. Dixon and Thomas Oliver Scott. He passed away on June 1, 2019 at his home in (Rodney Court, Apartments) Wilmington, Delaware. surrounded by family. Robert received his early education in the public-school system in Delaware. He attended Howard High School and later enlisted in the US Army, where he served as a paratrooper. After his
military tour he worked in several human services related jobs. His last known employment, Rob was a floral delivery person for Yuki flower shop. Rob attended several local churches Sharon Temple SDA Church and Mother African Union First Colored Methodist Church. Rob continued his education receiving an Associate Degree in the Criminal Justice field. He was actively pursuing a second-degree in Information Technology at both Wilmington University and
Delaware Technical Community College. Rob spoke several different languages and made learning a life-long career. He had many hobbies. Rob enjoyed sewing and took pride in the things he made. He loved sports and track and field being his most loved. He received several metals in his category as a senior runner. He strived to stay abreast of current events of the world. Many people knew Rob as an active, loving, outgoing and kind person. However, there was a very private side of him as well. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Tom Oliver Scott and Dora A. Dixon, and brothers Wayne, Jimmy and John Dixon. Robert is also survived by children Robert Oliver Dixon Jr (Sharron) Gary L. Dixon (Cheryl)Lolita " Tammy " Smith (Ronald). Holli-OBada Dixon. Robert OTeba Dixon (Dorian).
Roberta Christina Doreen Dixon. Rob had 14 grandchildren and one on the way I host that great grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. Also survived by his siblings Delores Elizabeth Harrison,
Jeanette Mann David Dixon (Janice) Steve Dixon, Kenneth Dixon (Karen) Joanne Gibson and Elaine Johnson Dixon; dedicated nephew William James Harrison a host of relatives and friends.
