Robert Louis Nelson was born on June 4, 1945, in Oxford, PA, to the late Horatio Viscount Nelson, Sr. and Leanna Nelson Johnson. He passed on September 30, 2019. "Nelson" enjoyed spending time with his family, dancing, jazz, sports and visiting the beach. Nelson had such a warm and welcoming demeanor. He would always introduce himself as Uncle Nelson and live up to that title. He was baptized on November 13, 2016, as a Jehovah's Witness and was a servant at the Limestone Congregation in Wilmington, DE. Nelson graduated from Oxford High School, where he was an all-state basketball player. He then became employed with the DuPont company where he worked as blue print expeditor retiring in 1990. He married the love of his life Shelley Goodson, on July 21, 1973. They had two daughters Norean and Shelley Nelson from this Union. Nothing warmed his heart like his grandchildren Stephon and Brionna. Nelson is survived by his wife Shelley. Two daughters Norean "Rean" and Shelley "Fuu" Nelson. Three grandchildren Stephon, Brionna and Harlan(step) Johnson. Great-granddaughter Sephira Johnson. Brothers-in-Laws: Armando "Army", David Goodson of Wilmington, DE. Warren Goodson of Saxapahaw, NC. Sisters-in-law Iris Cobb, Puerto Plata, DR, Olivia Clark (Junie) and Carrie Goodson of Wilmington, DE, Cheryl Lesniewski (Fred) and Susan Cremasco of Bristol, CT., first cousins Nelson "Skip" Walls,Lewis Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Dr. H. Viscount "Berkey" Nelson and Louis Edgar Grant. Sisters-in-law Joan Nelson, Priscilla and Angela Goodson. Brothers-in- law David Cobb, Marvin and Everett Goodson.
