Raymond Stevens

Raymond was born on February 5, 1995 in Newark, Delaware to Artise Obo-Duhart and Raymond Stevens-Duker. He passed on November 8, 2022 in Houston, Texas.


Rayray received his early childhood education from Bayard Middle School, Shue Medill Middle School and Newark High School. He graduated from John Dickinson High School in 2013. He went to Delaware Skills Center and received a trade certificate in HVAC and general construction soon after. He went to Christina Cultural Arts for his artistic skills: dance and art. He also went to the Islamic school in Chester, Pennsylvania to practice Islam.


He was a free-spirited person who enjoyed drawing, writing raps and dancing. Rayray really loved writing and listening to music. Creating art was really his passion. He was extremely talented. Any form of art moved Rayray. He would draw on anything. Whatever art aesthetic he saw around, he would try to recreate it. He played football all throughout high school up until he was injured. He worked at several fast food places and warehouses. His last place of employment was at the Toyota Stadium in Houston, Texas where he enjoyed watching the games held there. His favorite food was pizza, but Rayray enjoyed eating.


Rayray was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers Carol Jean-Taylor and Ruth McKnight, his grandmother Deborah Lee Stevens, his grandfather Raymond Duker, and his aunts Shameeka Stevens-Ellis and Lakisha Faison.


Rayray is survived by his mother Artise Obo and father Raymond Stevens-Duker, his great-grandfathers Walter McKnight, Sr. and Artie Duhart. Sr., his grandparents Cheryl Gregory, Richard Gregory and Artie Duhart Jr., his sisters Shyisha Stevens, Nykea Stevens and Azuray Stevens, his brother Nafir Stevens, his aunts Lashelle Duhart, Cherise Simon, Nena Rice, Williamina Ushery, Deborah’nick Ushery, Tracy Ushery, Natisha Mathews and Lontoya Murray, his great-uncles Walter McKnight, Alexander McKnight and Charles McKnight, his uncles Artie Duhart, III, Richard Gregory, Jr., Willie Ushery and Terrence Price, special cousins Tyreasha Blue, Tyshaun Blue, Shaundaja Blue, Tyre Blue, Andrew Harvey, Salaah Price, Martty Price, Terrence Price, Jr., Paulron Clark, Rayquan Chambers and Ah’lee Gregory, 4 nieces, 1 nephew, and a host of other cousins that loved him as well.
