Mother Nannie M. Wilkerson

Born July 7, 1932 was called home to meet the Lord on June 20, 2023.

Born in Meherrin, Virginia, she was the oldest girl of eight siblings, which all preceded her in death: James Williams, Roselle Medley, Florence Johnson, Sarah Johnson, Marvin Williams, Joseph Williams and Shirley Monroe.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughters Diane McGruder, Constance Davis, sons Lionell Davis and Gerome Davis, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceded in death were her sons Eugene Davis, Jr., Cecil Henderson and Freddie Henderson.

Nannie had a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She belonged to Bethany Baptist Church of Chester, Pennsylvania for over 50 years and had attended faithfully until her illness. She was a member of the Faith Fellowship Chorus, the Kitchen Committee, Hospitality Committee and Eastern Star Chapter 27.

She enjoyed cooking, traveling, shopping, feeding the homeless and neighbors. Most of all she enjoyed taking care of her family and her little dog Tee Tee.

Her favorite hymn was "Precious Lord," and her favorite Bible verse was the 23rd Psalm.

Nannie loved sitting on her porch talking and waving at her neighbors. They all knew her as their Nanna and brought her flowers, food and a host of items. They never were too busy to say hello and ask her how she was doing.

She will be dearly missed.
