March 13, 1978 — January 2, 2023

MARTINA CORRINE ELOISE HENRY, was born in Wilmington, Delaware on March 13, 1978 to the late

Wendy A. Jefferson and Martin W. Williams and her beloved adoptive parents who raised her, Christine

M. Williams and the late Johnathan Johnson. On Monday, January 2, 2023 the Lord dispatched His

angels to watch over all that Martina came to love as He gently whisked her away from her labor to

eternal rest.

Martina, lovingly known to her mother as “Pumpkin” and affectionately known as “Shy Shy” to many,

received her education in the Wilmington Public School Systems and graduated from Delcastle Technical

High school as certified Cosmetologist. After high school she worked in various salons where she

developed her love for fashion and beauty. Throughout her life Martina worked with various companies

and enrolled in Wilmington University where she pursed her bachelor’s degree in Behavior science. As

an entrepreneur Martina started her own business, creating her signature statement “Don’t be Shy

Gurl!” on mask and apparel.

She learned to bowl at a young age joining the Delaware Jr Bowlers Team competing in local bowling

leagues. “Shy Shy” was an avid skater who loved traveling with her skate crew, Cheetah and Meka

known as The Wild Card Rollers of Delaware where she represented as The Ace of Diamonds.

As a child, Martina was introduced to Christ and attended her family church Bibleway Holy Church

where she sang with the MLR, served in the youth ministry and continued her fellowship with

Redeeming Grace Worldwide Ministries and before joining her current ministry, Victorious Life Church

where she was a Videographer, sang on the praise team and served her ministry family faithfully.

There were so many layers to Martina that she was priceless and precious to many. Her hair and nails

always made a statement! She loved fashion, could put an outfit together, and enjoyed the finer things

in life. Martina was very outgoing, compassionate, out spoken individual and loved by many.

Amongst the many things, Martina loved butterflies, and having a good time. She had the gift to gab,

loved to laugh, being with people and enjoyed family outings where she was the life of the party. In her

pass time, she enjoyed old school hip hop concerts and attending the annual Diner En Blanc all white

parties. She loved, loved, loved her family, her grandchildren who she spoiled and eating crabs day in

and day out!

Martina was preceded in death by her parents, Wendy A. Jefferson and Martin W. Williams,

grandparents Clarissa and Robert William and Eurl Smith, two uncles Terrance Williams and Wayne Mills

and one aunt Valerie Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one child, Johniya Williams, her mother, Christine Williams,
