Lizzie Johnson Ware was born on February 23, 1932, in Hampton, South Carolina to the late Jim Johnson and Rose Ann Doctor. She received her education in her early years in the Hampton County public schools. She later left home at the age of 16, to move with her aunt and uncle Marie and Fred Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa where she continued her education. After her studies, she was employed with Philadelphia. Electric Company (PECO) for 35 years until her retirement.
Lizzie touched the lives of many people with her generosity and sense of humor. She had a deep love for her family and her southern roots. She would frequently travel from Pennsylvania and Delaware to Hampton, South Carolina to maintain the bond she shared with her parents and siblings until they preceded her in death.
In 1965, while living in Philadelphia, Pa, Lizzie met and fell in love with her husband and partner of 34 years, Fred Ware. The two of them were married on July 30, 1966. They resided in Pennsylvania for many years until moving to Wilmington, Delaware. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Ware, parents and her siblings. On Sunday, February 11, 2024, her heavenly father called her home for eternal rest.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one brother, Samuel (Christian) Johnson of New Castle, Delaware; A God daughter; Linda Royal of Philadelphia, Pa, Devoted nieces and nephews; Kimberly Holland (James) of New Castle, Delaware, Patricia Rodd of Varnville, SC, Monica McCray of New Castle, De, Johnny Johnson of Johns Island, SC, Prince Williams JR (Sabina) of Wilmington, Delaware, Derrick Williams (Trina) of Wilmington, Delaware, Dianne Houston of Atlanta, Georgia, Dennis Johnson (Allison) of Nashville, Tennessee, Reginald Ware of Syracuse, New York, and Ross Moseley of Atlanta, Georgia; 2 devoted cousins; Freida Strange of Philadelphia, PA and Linda Battle of Sanford, Florida; and a host of several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
