We regretfully announce the passing of our mother Karen Martin on November 17th. Karen Martin was surrounded by family and passed away peacefully.
In 1979, she met Roderick Carper and together they had three beautiful children. She was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Karen decided to become a nurse because she wanted to fulfilled the dream her mother had of becoming a nurse. Karen graduated from Gloucester County College with a degree in applied sciences in 1992. After she graduated, she worked at Salem Memorial Hospital, where she created a legacy for more than 30 years.
Karen was predeceased by her father Rudolph Martin, mother Barbara Martin, grandmother Ada Rhea and grandfather Chauncey Walker. She is survived by her three children: Shannon, Aleascha, and Roderick Jr; her grandchildren: Tete, Jamir, Maya, Jaden, Shya, Kaleb, Kylah, and Kasey; her brothers: Gary, Rudy, Alan, and Derek; and uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends
Our mother Karen was one of the strongest women to ever walked this earth and our family was bless to have her as the head of our family.
Mother you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much.
