Jerome Reese Dickenson, the only child of Blanche and Richard, was born September 7, 1936 in Lakeland Florida. He entered into eternal rest at 6:45 pm., Sunday, August 20, 2023 at DE Hospice Society, Wilmington, DE.

His early years was spent in Lakeland Florida. At a young age he relocated to New York with his parents. There he attended Junior High School PS 40 and Gompers High School both of The Bronx. Upon completion he gained employment with the New York City Health and Hospital Corp. He started out as a line person and worked his way to Senior Cook at Fordham Hospital and then at North Central Hospital, Bronx, NY, from which he retired from after 44 years of service.

On February 19, 1955 Jerome was united in marriage to Frieda Ursula Rock of The Bronx NY. From their union three sons and one daughter were born; Jerome Reese Jr, Yvette Juanita, Kenneth Ronald, and Terrence.

Jerome was a warm and loving tireless man worked 2 full time jobs in order to provide for his wife and their children. He loved his family and enjoyed life to the fullest. His initial appearance was that of a quiet man with little to say. But when you got to know him, he was an undercover jokester who always enjoyed having a good time. Whether vacationing, partying or just sitting back enjoying a quiet evening at home, he treasured sharing life with family and friends. He was a sports enthusiast who “LOVED” his NY teams. Be it The Knicks, Giants or Yankees, he would spend hours watching and conversating about their wins, losses and bloops. He was wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather who loved and cherished his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory: His wife Frieda Dickenson of Bear DE; three sons, Jerome Jr. of Rochester NY, Kenneth Dickenson of Schenectady NY, and Terrence Dickenson of Middletown, DE; one daughter, Yvette Manigault of Wilmington DE; three granddaughters – Kendra, LaChelle and Dominique; five grandsons – LaTeef, Neill, Justin, Ean and Ethan; two great grandsons – Nathaniel and Lorenzo; three daughters-in-law – Paulette (Jerome), Pamela (Kenneth) and Monique (Terrence) and one son-in-law – Thomas Manigault (Yvette); six nephews – Randolph Punter, Marcel Rock, Darrell Rock, Derek Rock, Keith Rock, Gregory Rock and seven nieces – Scarlett Parker, Chanetta McQueen, Charisse Rock, Courtney Rock, Marylin Punter, Mary Rock and Dorothy Punter. In addition, a multitude of great nieces, nephews, friends and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins in Florida.
