Georgia C. Brown Footman was born September 6, 1937, in Florence, South Carolina, to the late Rev. Julius and Willie Mackevoy Brown. She went to Gibbs High School in Pamlico, South Carolina. She was also a member of Mill Branch A.M.E. Church in South Carolina.

She was married to John David Footman and moved to Wilmington, Delaware in 1957. They had (6) children born to them, George, Brian, David, Kevin, Bernard and Kenneth both deceased. Worked at Thermo Plastics, Standard Linen, started Christiana Care in 1984 and retired in 1999.

She joined Ebenezer Baptist Church in 1974 under the late Rev. Lewis Johnson and now under Pastor Gilbert S. Hamm Sr. She is a member of the Mass Choir, Nurses Unit, Pastors Aids, Grace Ministry, Kitchen Committee, and the No.2 Chorus, which is the Senior Choir. Her favorite scripture is the 27th Psalm, The Lord is my Light and my Salvation whom Shall I Fear. And her favorite hymn is There's not a Friend like the lowly Jesus.

Georgia leave to cherish her memory, her sisters Evonne, Tricia and Minnie Anne, deceased John Albert and others, sons: George, Bryan, David, Kevin: grandchildren Frances Stanley, Shanika Ross, Gwen Shaw, and Kiera Footman, great-grandchildren, Antoinette, Cur'nya, Wycir, Zylier, Zyaire, Zyana, Junior,Angelina, Joseph, Demca, Daria, Derrick, Cornelius, and many other great grands, relatives and friends.
