Dorothy T. Lloyd

June 27, 1968 — July 12, 2020

Dorothy T. Lloyd, was born in Wilmington, Delaware on June 27, 1968 to the late Dorothy M. Lloyd and Thomas P. Johnson III and her beloved foster mother who helped raise her, the late Rev. Blanch Hallman. Spending her final hours surrounded by her loved ones, she transitioned to her eternal rest on July 12, 2020.

"Tina" as she was affectionately known, received her education in the Wilmington Public School Systems. Her early years was spent as a homemaker, raising her six children who were her life, however, she was known as "Mom" to many, opening her doors to all who needed a place to lay their heads and a warm meal to eat. She loved to cook, but best believe, as she would say, "You gonna eat what I cook of you won't eat at all!" That included some questionable meals like muskrat, enjoyable to some but not by her children!

Tina was a strong woman who gave sound advice and great wisdom through the years to her children, grandchildren and those she encountered, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams and be the very best they could be. She was proud of all of her children and as the Matriarch of the family, she was instrumental in instilling family values, maintaining the bond of unity and initiating family gatherings and events.

Tina worked in various positions pursuing her passion to cook including Captains Deck and The Ark Learning Center for many years. Her last employer, whom she loved, was Reeds Refuge Center where she worked as an assistant teacher. There she nurtured countless children and counselors which brought her great joy.

Raised in a Christian home by her foster mother, Tina was introduced to Christ at an early age. Throughout her life, she never lost her faith. It was her faith that allowed her to transition in peace in her last days. She never complained but when ever she was asked how she was doing she always responded, "I'm Okay!"

Tina was a diva when it came to dressing, making sure she was sharp from head to toe. She enjoyed life fully but she loved to dance, family events and listening to music, especially her favorite song by Yolanda Adams, which we sang to her in her final hour, "I'm gonna be ready", and that she was!

Tina was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Tyrone and Gary Lloyd, James and Thomas Johnson, sisters; Ellen Jeziorski and grandson, Sylvester M. Fink Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, Six children, Jennet Lloyd-Meadows ( Jermaine Meadows) Rashad Lloyd, Rashedia Lloyd (Daryl Teat), Tieshia Lloyd-Brown (Jason Brown), Lamott Brinkley Jr., Tiana Lloyd (Erik Wilkerson); a daughter in love, Courtney Jones; Eight sisters, Rose Gonzales, Ruby Loveless, Bettie Surles (Lawrence Sr), Madina McLean (Robert), Emily Crockett (William Sr.), Laura Ennis, Khadijah Miller, Coree Taylor; Five brothers, Harry Lloyd (Toshieka), Sir Walter Johnson, (Peggy), Johnny Johnson, Jessi Johnson (Carol), Joseph Johnson (Sherry); Six-teen grandchildren, Da'Nashia Lloyd.
