Donald Terrence Lind Pearson Sr, son of the late Alice E Golden and Benjamin R. Pearson Sr, was
born in Lake Butler, Union County, Florida on December 25, 1941. At a young age, his parents
moved to Delaware where he completed 80 years of life on October 26, 2022, at Christiana Care,
Wilmington, DE.
Donald married Francis Fryer on March 17, 1962. They were married for 21 years and had two
children, Donald “Bink” and Derrick B. Pearson. He was blessed with two grandchildren, Derrick
“Dusty” Pearson and Nicholas Hardy.
Donald married Mary Corrine Hill on February 17, 1995, and became the father of three children, Lisa
I. Brown-Goicuria, David S. Hill and Sara K. Hill-Walstrum. He was blessed with two grandchildren,
Makaya and Sixto Goicuria. The Goicurias affectionately nicknamed him “Mr. D”. Donald and Corrine
shared life together for 24 years.
Donald was educated in the Delaware public schools. He graduated from Howard High School
(1959) where he participated in football and a focus on Auto Mechanics. He continued his education
at DelTech (Basic Economics); graduated from Goldey Beacom College receiving an AA Degree in
Business Management (1975); NCC Vocational- Technical School Plumbing IV and Welding; US
Dept of Labor certification as Pipefitter; GM-UAW Journeyman Pipefitter/Plumber (1988)
Donald’s work history includes Supervisor at Rickel Home Center (1983); Sales Correspondent at
Ronson Corporation (1978); Supervisor at Speakman Company Wilm, DE (1961) and Pipefitter at
General Motors Corporation- Boxwood Plant (Retired).
Donald was Private First Class E2 in The United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged
1960.
Donald was an active member of Community Presbyterian Church. His parents were among the
founding members and held Sunday School in their home. Donald attended faithfully and remained a
lifetime member.
Donald was a lifetime member of the Belvedere Fire Company. The firehouse was his second home,
and his fellow firefighters were brothers. He held many positions, offices and active in every aspect
of its operations.
Donald was a member of an elite group known as The Crew-Gentleman of the Sixties and was
awarded a certificate for outstanding service and assistance to the community (2017)

Grandchildren: Derrick “Dusty” (LV Nevada) Nicholas (LV Nevada); Sixto (Bear, DE) Makaya (Bear,
DE). Sisters: Helen Carson (New Castle DE), Carol “LaRue” Woodard (Middletown, DE) In Laws:
Barbara Pearson (Wilm. DE), Emory Woodard (Oxford, PA); and a host of relatives, special friends,
sorrowing friends, endearing coworkers, and acquaintances.
