Cherita Delphine Bordley was born on December 17, 1959 in Elkton, MD. Cherita departed this life to be with the Lord on October 7, 2012. Cherita was raised by her maternal grandparents the late Ella Clayton Bordley and the late Walter Bordley, Sr. Cherita was the daughter of the late Grace Bordley Hatcher and William Leroy " Pete Blackson. Cherita received her early education in the Middletown, Delaware Public School System and later graduated with her Bachelor's Degree from Delaware State University in 1983 in Physical Education. Cherita was a faithful member of the Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church from the moment she joined on April 15, 1990. Whenever the church doors were opened Cherita was there. She was on the Willing Workers auxiliary, and sang on the Fellowship Choir and the Gospel Chorus. Cherita was also a Sunday School Teacher at Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist CHurch. Cherita was devoted to God's word and everyone who knew her also knew her Bible was with her everywhere she went. Cherita was a kind hearted person who was a caregiver to a lot of people in their time of need and everyone would gladly do for Cherita at any and all times. Even though, Cherita was an independent person, she knew everyone loved her and she loved them in return. Cherita Delphine Bordley leaves to cherish her memories: Five sisters; Gwendolyn Annette Scott or Herndon, Virginia, Karen Patton (Steve) of Nokesville, Virginia, Lisa Blackson of Dover, Delaware, Denise Hatcher of Rivera Beach Florida and Linda Selby of Wilmington, Delaware. one brother; Grady Hatcher, Jr. of Rivera Beach, Florida. a stepmother; Mary L. Blackson of Dover, Delaware. Three aunts; Louvenia Rosado (Maxelina) of Port St. Lucia, Florida. Ruth Tatum ( Frank) of Jupiter, Florida, Mary Blackson-Smith (whom she affectionately called "Mom") of Smyrna, Delaware. Four Uncles; John Bordley, of Wilmington Delaware, Howard Bordley(Emma) of Smyrna, Delaware, James Blackson of Townsend, Delaware and Roland Blackson of Smyrna, Delaware.
