Al Augustus Kearney known as (Poppy) was born on July 5, 1983 in Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York to mother Renee Kearney and father Al Mullins. Poppy spent his childhood years in New York City where he attended PS.21 public school but later moved to Delaware where he completed his high school education at Glasgow High School. Poppy loved sports and waking up on Sundays to bet on basketball and football games. He would gather with his friends to watch football and basketball. He was a family man and enjoyed being with his family and friends. Poppy would always find time to visit family and friends back home in New York City. He was loved by many and known for his robust laugh. He believed in living his life to its fullest and traveled many places and favored Atlantic City as his weekend get away. On February 11, 2004 Poppy became the proud father of his twin girls Alanna and Aliyah Timmon, and on October 1, 2009 his son Saviour Kearney was born. Fatherhood was everything to Poppy. Anyone who knew him knows how involved he was in his children's lives and how much his children meant to him. In 2008 Poppy was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and was waiting for a heart transplant. Since being diagnosed he underwent many surgical procedures to help with his condition. Although Poppy had a medical condition he didn't allow that to interfere with his daily life and was always up beat and in good spirits. Unfortunately on March 13, 2019 Poppy was called home to join his late twin sister Tamekia Kearney and grandmother Helen Kearney who proceeded him in death. He leaves to mourn his 4 children, daughters Alanna and Aliyah Timmon; his son Saviour Kearney; stepdaughter Sherene Mccauley; mother, Renee Kearney; father, Al Mullins; stepfather Carl Belgrave; sister Jalicia Kearney; uncle Benjuan Kearney; aunt Yvonne Mullins; nephews Devaughn Corbett and Nassir Bess; cousin who was like a sister, Stephanie Kearney; Godsister Tasha Scott; the mother of his daughters Stacy Timmon and the mother of his son and stepdaughter Sherique Gaines; his loving companion Martina Cooper; close friends: Anthony Fields, Alfonso Smith, Brandon White, Jeffery Taylor, Armond and Armeer Williams; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
